A Possibly Not So Mini Post On The Nintendo Direct Mini

So today, as I was just waking up, Nintendo uploaded a Nintendo Direct Mini to their YouTube channel and other platforms, announcing quite a few new games for the Spring 2018 season. As a big Nintendo fan, who loved the first year of the Switch (seriously, what a great first year the Switch had [and is still having]), I couldn’t wait to see what they announced and offer my short to long opinions on the stuff I am a fan of. This’ll essentially be three things;

1.) Kirby: Star Allies. I haven’t played a Kirby game since The Crystal Shards on the Nintendo 64. I can’t wait to play this one. It looks great, and has four player co-op.

2.) Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. I didn’t play very many games on the Wii U. This was one of the games… that I didn’t play. And that’s apparently a shame, because I have heard rave reviews. This’ll be a day one (or close to) purchase for me. And it looks absolutely gorgeous.

And now for the title I am most excited for…

3.) Mario Tennis Aces. I haven’t played a Mario Tennis game since Mario Power Tennis on the GameCube. I put days into that game. It was one of the games I brought with me when we would take family trips down to Ocean City, MD. The Wii and Wii U releases weren’t interesting enough to get me to take the plunge on them (and I just wasn’t interested in playing it on a handheld with screens that small for the DS and 3DS releases). But man, this already has me excited. Graphically it looks awesome, there is a story mode, the name is great, etc. And hey, that makes two tennis games I am 100% going to get this year. 2018 is the year of the tennis game! Now we could just use another Mario Golf game…

So hey, when planning this article, I knew it would be short, and here we are, not even 500 words. Hopefully within the next few weeks or so Nintendo drops something else to talk at length about. This Reddit post claims that after every Nintendo Direct Mini, a regular Nintendo Direct happens within 20 days, so… we’ll see!
